Retreat and Dieta in Peru
With more than 30 years of combined experience with the medicine, we offer a safe and grounded space rooted in years of apprenticeship and service. Our approach is one of self-inquiry grounded in the compassionate heart. One of attention to what is shown, rather than coming with the tension of INTENTIONS to be met. If you have been working with the medicine for a while, or have begun to build a practice for meeting the more challenging parts of yourself, we would love to hear from you.
Current Availability
We are fully booked for the remainder of 2026 and until April of 2027. If you are interested in joining a wait list for ceremonies for dieta or retreat after April please contact us to let us know. It is our policy to offer no more than three ceremonies in the space of 7 days. As we have limited space and fill quickly it is good to have at least six months to a year notice if you would like to join.
We do not offer tourism type ceremonies for people ‘passing through’ the Sacred Valley. It is our preference to work with people that know us and our work ahead of time and are coming specifically for that purpose.
Dietas generally run for two weeks although we would be open to running a longer one with sufficient time to plan. So if this is of interest please also reach out and let us know.
We have had inquires for those wanting to bring retreat groups, at this time we are able to accept groups of four, but only have accommodation with three beds, However we have a beautiful hotel a five minute walk away and many local airbnbs.

About Felix and Safa
Felix began his journey with the medicine in 2013 after seeking away to heal from Lyme’s disease. He traveled to Peru to a well known medicine centre and never left. He immediately began his apprenticeship and worked for three years with large groups of guests learning the delicate and compassionate path of guiding others through deep and often confronting journeys.
Safa began her medicine journey in 2008 in Canada with her first maestro. She eventually was hosting ceremony for community until she left the country in 2012. Safa then returned to Peru in 2014 start dieting, first in the Mestizo tradition and then with Shipibo-Konibo when she arrived to work at the same centre as Felix.
Felix and Safa left the centre to work exclusively with their teacher in the Amazon for several years and eventually started their own work in 2018 in the Sacred Valley. In those years since beginning, they continue to diet and learn through the experience of each unique individual and the plants themselves.
Felix loves to work with the mind, to bring the light of awareness to loud (and subtle) narratives that we can create. With greater clarity of the mental body, it becomes easier to establish a clearer connection with the greater intelligence that guides all of life.
Safa’s specialty is with the energetic pathways of the body where we store a lot of turbid chi which can create challenges physical, emotional and mental disturbances. This can build up as a result of the stresses daily life challenges all the way to ancestral dispensations. She is nicknamed by guests the ‘scapel’ and aims to work with precision drawing on years of studies and application in energy medicine, Chinese medicine and Taoist inner alchemy. By combining these systems with a shamanic lens it is like having deep knowledge of the road map with multiple places to look why the roads are blocked.

Booking in Advance for Machu Picchu
We are located 15 minutes from the train to Machu Picchu that is located in Ollantaytambo. So it is very close to make this pilgrimage.
There are currently three routes available for Machu Picchu and they can sell out in advanced especially in high travel season of June, July and August. There are three things that you need to do for your trip:
Before anything else book your Machu Picchu site ticket. The best route is route is circuit 2 as you will get the standard tour that gives you the typical photo worthy snaps you are used to. This is the only site that you can purchase tickets with and is the official government website. They can sell out in advance so it is good to purchase before coming on your trip:
Book the train ticket from Ollyantaytambo (if you are leaving from our place) or Cusco if you are going straight from the plane. There are two train services you can use:
Peru Rail: https://www.perurail.com/train-schedules-and-frequencies/ or Inka Rail: https://incarail.com/en/the-360-machu-picchu-train
Book your bus ticket from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu site. They can be booked here online or in town. In high season the cues can be quite long in town:
The town of Aguas Calientes is small with some nice restaurants and shops with many local artisans. For hikers they have lots of massage places. The hot springs is not super clean so just be prepared if you go for a dip there. ;)
Support for the Sacred Valley Project
A portion of our work together is donated to help support the Sacred Valley Project which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering Indigenous girls from remote communities in Peru through access to secondary education.
By providing a safe and supportive residential environment, academic tutoring, and mentorship, SVP helps students overcome geographic and socio-economic barriers to attend school, graduate with a secondary school degree, and pursue future opportunities.
Through a holistic approach that nurtures both educational success and personal wellbeing, the Sacred Valley Project is helping to create a new generation of confident, educated young women and community leaders.
